Sheila and I had a great time at this retreat center. It is only a year old and just wonderful. Real sewing tables and electrical hook ups and office chairs for each person. Separate room to eat in. Wonderful showers and restrooms to share. 3 twin beds in each room with beautiful quilts on them.
Here are all the Dear Hannah blocks I made and the Tag Along Tote I completed. The tote was made with Swirly Girl fabric.

What Makes Me Happy!
Easter 2012 - My mom and I are in Hutto for Mother's Day. I'm so happy!
I went to Honey Bee Quilt Store in Austin and got to meet Jennifer Ofenstein of SewHooked. It was so much fun. She had her Harry Potter Quilt. It was so great to see all of her work.

Happiness Key
Last spring or summer Emily Richards came out with the new book called, Happiness Key. She and Pat Sloan got together to have some fun and Pat created a pattern for a wall hanging to accompany the book. New Year's Day was a Finish it Up Quilt Along and I'm now almost done with my wall hanging. I just love it!

Quilt Retreat
Last weekend I had an in-town retreat with a few friends. We had fun stitching, laughing, and talking, talking, talking. Quilty friends are great fun!
I purchased a subscription of the e-zine Fat Quarterly. It has a great pattern for a quilt designed by a blog 'friend'. I have to find some fabric! This Braided Kaleidoscope was created by Jennifer Ofenstein.
Don't you want to make one, too?

Dear Hannah
The Dear Jane list is starting a Block of the Week challenge for the Dear Hannah quilt. The goal is to make 2 blocks per week. I'm so excited. I have the materials and patterns all ready to go. These are the two blocks I have completed.
B! Tennessee Pine
A1 Nevermore
Dear Hannah was created by Brenda Papadakis. Unlike Dear Jane half of the blocks are applique. This will give it a different feel. I'm making mine with batiks will make a big difference from Civil War Reproductions.

Quilt Screen by Green
I have many quilts that I don't get to see very often since they are stacked up in a corner.
At the last quilt show I attended I found an oak screen to hold quilts. It was made by Greystone. Armond and Sandie Hirtriter are very nice and helpful and make a wonderful product. I just got it last week and I'm thrilled. I get to look at my quilts all I want.
Don't they look great! What a treat!

Packing
We are leaving for Chautauqua, NY and I'm trying to get ready. Of course, the most important thing about a trip is what projects to take. The choices are endless. I'm trying to choose between knitting and embroidery. I have prepared the Crabapple Hill designs: Zelda's Fancy Hat and Vintage Trick or Treat. I have a Dobby Style House SockMark, baby tube socks, and a lace weight shawl to knit. It will be hard to make a choice. I might have to find space for all of them.
Oh, then I have to get my clothes together, but that will only take a minute and it's not as important!
